2021 Grenache, Santa Barbara County
Jeb Dunnuck 91 points ~ The 2021 Grenache is 100% varietal and comes from the Stolpman and Larner vineyards in Ballard Canyon. Its medium ruby hue is followed by a pretty perfume of ripe cherries, strawberries, sappy flowers, and black tea-like nuances. Medium-bodied, supple, and elegant on the palate, it might be confused for a Pinot Noir, but it's nevertheless a pretty, perfumed, satisfying red that will have 5-7 years of prime drinking. Maturity 2023-2030. — Jeb Dunnuck
Vinous 91 points ~ The 2021 Grenache (Ballard Canyon), a blend from Stolpman and Larner is a very pretty, delicate wine. Bright red-toned fruit, rose petal, mint and blood orange all grace this lifted, understated Grenache. The 60% whole clusters are very nicely integrated. Drinking window 2023-2028. — Antonio Galloni
2020 Grenache, Santa Barbara County
Wine Enthusiast 93 points ~ A light shade in the glass, this appellation blend is snappy on the nose with crisp raspberry and pomegranate aromas, as white pepper, rose petal and ash add mineral tones to the vibrant frame. It's very fresh on the palate, with a chalky texture and taut red-fruit flavors. — Matt Kettmann
2019 Grenache, Santa Barbara County
Wine Enthusiast 94 Points ~ Fruit and floral aromas of red cherry, red currant, raspberry and rose petal are offset by a mineral streak of wet gravel and kick of cola spice on the nose of this bottling. The palate is loaded with fresh red-fruit and red-flower flavors, from pomegranate to hibiscus, balanced by orange rind. — Matt Kettmann
